Art in the Redwoods

Nestled in the woods lining the Mendocino coast is the light-filled Gualala Arts Center, a hub of creativity in Gualala. During Art in the Redwoods, the light-filled space and its environs will be populated by the work of area artists--ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, tiles, weavings, and more. Peruse their offerings, purchase some if you like, and, then, when tummies grumble, fill up on grill, salads, and soups served by the Gualala Arts Culinary Group. If the kids aren't into the art show, take them on the one-mile Haiku Trail, where they'll find poetry written on cloth hanging from trees. The event will be held on August 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $6; youth ages 17 and under get in free. Find out more at gualalaarts.org.
